During the Covid-19 , I decided to bring back to life one of my hobbies Cooking. My mother and I are huge sushi rolls lovers but we had a problem the restaurants were close. So we went online to search "How to make sushi rolls at home ?" So we found this video that become our go to , when we needed to learn and then brush on our techniques .
We all know that saying "A good magician doesn't share his tricks " fortunately for everyone , I am not that type of magician let alone a magician . I digress , figuring out how to successfully make the sushi rolls took a lot of trials but we eventually crack the code so to speak . This is what you need to prepare sushi rolls :
Having those video was only the half of it . We had to find our own techniques which I am glad to share with everyone.
Tip #1
No need to buy sushi rice because it's difficult to manage . We found out that Jasmine rice is way better and so much easier to deal with. All you have to do is follow the recipe with one caveat add half a cup of water and put the stove on low for the last 7 minutes.
Tip#2
When putting the rice on the sheet , make sure to have a small bowl of water and vinegar and deep your hand in it from time to time so that the rice won't stick to your hands.
Tip #3
you will have to purchase a rolling bamboo mat ( @Amazon sells the best one : Tetsujin Bamboo Sushi Mat - 9.5" X 9.5" Sushi Roller - Chef Grade Bamboo Sushi Rolling Mat - Premium Quality Sushi Mat Roller $6.88) that length makes it easier to roll.
The places i bought my ingredients :
Sushi Nori sheets- https://www.amazon.com/gimMe-Organic-Premium-Roasted-Gluten-Free/dp/B01ESBNFGC/ref=sr_1_11?crid=1STV027CBJGXO&dchild=1&keywords=seaweed+for+sushi+rolls&qid=1612028056&s=grocery&sprefix=seaweed+for+%2Cgrocery%2C169&sr=1-11
avocado - any avocado will work
meat - your choice of seafood
Here is the end product :
I am looking forward to see your sushi rolls 🍱🍣!
