This is Krémas , how to put the capital F in fun Christmas

 








     We all know how stressful planning a Christmas dinner can be .  Having delicious food , great music and being surrounded by family is a great way to spend the holidays . Kremas is a very popular drink that you will find on every Haitian table . Most people will argue on the choice of rum that we use but I personally prefer to use the traditional rum that Haitian call "kleren". Most people will agree that Kleren best substitute is Jamaican overproof white rum, rest assure that the choice of rum doesn't make it less authentic . 

Kremas can give the festive drink that is missing on your table because of the use of cinnamon and nutmeg . it is well paired with  pain patate or plantain bread which i will make sure to provide the recipe on my next post .

Ingredient 

  • 2 cans of sweetened condensed milk (14oz.)
  • 1 can of evaporated milk (12 oz.)
  • 1 tsp of lemon zest
  • 1 tsp of nutmeg
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1 tsp of almond extract
  • 2 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup of white rum then add to taste
  • 1/2 can cream of coconut(15 oz)
Directions

STEP 1:

In a large bowl or pitcher, add the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, cream of coconut, rum, cinnamon, nutmeg, almond, and vanilla.

STEP 2:

Stir well. Pour into glass bottles and chill in refrigerator.

STEP 3:

Serve chilled. Enjoy!


I encourage everyone to add kleren in your drink of choice this year .
